France - Burgundy Part 2 - Wine Tripping

We arrived bright and early to our first visit in Burgundy. With fresh palate and liver, I was ready to take on Burgundy!

Le Soufflot, one of the top meals of the trip. Easily 1 star standard! And very good wine list too!

One of my top dishes of the trip, the Salmon is done to perfection, lightly smoked on the outside, the inside is 50% cooked. The picture doesn't look like much, but taste is hardly 'transferable' from images!

one of the top deserts of the trip. Creams are usually too sweet and/or heavy. This had just the right twang of citrus to allow for a lovely enjoyment.

Can't remembered how we stumbled out of the place and found our bottles lying randomly by the roadside.
We entered Beaune and to our AirBNB!

 dinner at Maison du columberie.
Quite nice plats, since it was my first day, salt is welcome!
It was a very early day at Remi Jeanniard

Very lovely 2018s with bright and clear fruits.

Our stash is somewhere in there.

I piqued Monsieur on how would Les Ruchots and Les Ormes evolve,... and he pulled a 2006 Ormes, still incredibly fresh, with tad of secondary notes, pretty robust and can easily last another 10-20 years. The power of a good premier cru!
It was a short hop from Morey St Denis to Chambolle Musigny to Domaine Hudelot-Baillet.

2018 show every good concentration even for the Bourgogne! Certainly a very charming vintage.

2017 Charmes showing very pretty early!

Only 2 barrels of the Bonne Mares made.

We're right under Le Cras and this is the Rocks below!

We went to Denis Bachalet next and tasted his famed Charmes Chambertin!

It was still early for lunch and in the week of rain, it was a touch of sunshine and it was all that was needed and we parked along Chambertin and did all the touristy stuff!

 Lunch was decent.

afternoon tipples
dinner at Caves de Madeleine. Good wine list. good food.
