2019 Bali trip - Prelogue

It was sort of a 'last minute trip'. We've been to Bali several times and it being such a 'near' location, we have always dilly-dally about it. We love the beach/ sunsets/ yoga/ general chill vibes of the entire place. Being 2 degrees latitude south of Singapore,  the climate does help to shift the weather cooler and less humid in the month of June (technically the start of 'winter')
Thankfully we have enough points to claim for our virgin Business class tickets to Bali, and it was a candy store from the get go. We got to the airport 3 hours before departure, hoping to spend enough time in the lounges! Here alighting at Row 1 in Terminal 2, exciting!

The blue-tipped piority tag!

We never knew these signages even existed

Pretty posh looking!

Glorified buffet but still shiok!

The self-service kiosk in the Silver Kris Lounge.

Taking the Sky train from T2 to T3 (different lounge...)..we get to see the Jewel from the Sky Train's perspective!

More wines offering in the SKL. Nothing to really shout about if you're a wine geek.

SKL at T3 is HUGE. Quiet corner for reading and enjoying a hot cuppa of TWG feels good.

the Sky train heading back to T2...yes via the Jewel!

Its almost like a theme ride entering a Jurassic Park!

Boarding via another aerobridge (with zero Queue), having access to Robb Report and other 'high end magazines' adds to the shiok factor. Aviation enthusiasts have highly recommended row 11D/F for the central seats of this new B787-10 regional business class from Singapore Airlines. Row 11 is the first row of the plane. As there are no first class configuration in the plane, we were right at the front (seats are called Bulkhead).  Sipping Charles Heidseick ain't bad. More kicks on the board include the superb noise-cancelling Bose headphones, the ultra big screen, and plenty of buttons to press in the many panels. We opted for 'book the chef' option early, with me opting for the Lobster Thermidor (which is horrible), and the missus opened for the seared black cod (she said it's a little fishy but I found it ok). Thinking back, we should have returned the dishes and try something from the standard menu.

The rubbish Lobster, lobster is bland, over cooked.

The flight is only ~2 hours, a 3 course meals, and trying to have a nap (while lying fully flat), amongst the photo taking/button pushings, made the flight felt like 30minutes.

We can't remember a flight when it felt 'too short'. Before we know it, we landed in DPS Bali. More noob wowness; we were first to walk out of the plane. It's a weird feeling, no one was in front of us! The customs cleared reasonably fast but our bags came out rather slowly. It was off to Sanur for our first night stay with a SGD$13 massage across our hotel and an early next morning to get to our highlight of our trip, Nusa Penida!
